Timbuk2 is a fashionable and practical messenger bag, much like the Freitag bags. The company is located in the North Californian Bay Area, so I assumed that their bags were not widely known around the world. Then I saw a woman swing a small Timbuk2 handbag over her shoulder. Nothing funny about that, but then this was Heidelberg, Germany, and I didn't expect to see this bag here. So I asked this particularly good looking and well dressed exemplar of the female species where to find these bags. She smiled apologetically and said she didn't now---the bag had been a gift from a friend in Karlsruhe, a city about an hour south of Heidelberg. Owning some Timbuk2 bags myself, I told her how much I liked the bags, expecting her to agree and say that these were great or beautiful or convenient or even just practical bags. Rather, she said: "Oh yes, this is a truly robust bag. I like it a lot."
