I left Penang and made it to the Cameron Highlands, a kind of Scotish highlands, except that everything is different: It is still warm, though not as warm as on the sealevel, it has (some) rainforest, at least on the way up, and it has tea plantations.

Presently, the Cameron Highlands can be reached only through one road, even though a new one is being built. This one road is long and winded, quick to make one seasick from going left and right and right and left with the car. Worse, though, are the locals who cut corners without a warning honk. I guess the number of gray hairs I have increased substantially today.

I'm staying in Tanah Rata, the main city, and a rather uninteresting, if not outright desolate place. Not much happening here. The highlands, however, are under strong development. I saw plenty of new hotels and resorts being built. I guess this is the end of innocence for this area, if there ever was one.
